Ruth and I spent the month of April 2024 filming lambing season on a remote 500 year-old sheep farm in the Northern Fells of the English Lakes District. The land was rugged and raw. And the weather, unforgiving. Heavy rains fell and gale force winds blew. Yet the lambs – born outside day and night – thrived. Most stood within two minutes after birth. And once they’d nursed, many soon made their first attempts to leap and dance…as though celebrating their irrepressible joy in being alive…
And standing nearby in the wind and rain, we celebrated along with them…
